Recruitment Advertising

Helping newspapers capture more recruitment dollars

- Ron Mulder , President

How will local advertisers spend their recruitment dollar? How much of their advertising will go to local newspapers and the local newspaper Web site, and how much will national recruitment sites steal away?

MORI is working with clients to measure attitudes toward various recruitment vehicles, gauge their effectiveness and tap into how local businesses expect to recruit this year and beyond. Using executive interviews, we're examining how many open positions businesses expect to fill, how they'll recruit for them, what percentage of spending will go to print and online -- and how they measure success.

Some speculate that as the economy returns, the full force of recruitment dollars will not return with it for newspapers. Monster.com has enhanced its services and sought local partnerships, including newspapers and TV Web sites. And Yahoo! invested heavily into online recruitment capabilities by purchasing HotJobs.com.

As one client remarked, “Recruitment is so key to our future that we need answers now, so that we have our guns loaded when the ducks start flying.” We're helping clients take aim.
